Somebody accidentally changed Entra\Azure AD Sync service (log on) user account to domain admin account and now its no longer syncing the AD to AAD. So no record of the the original account that was set up by the application. We are using connect version 2.2.x.x

Thought of re-installing AD connect on the same server. But I am concerned, I dont have the original config and cannot export original config because the app will not open as the service is not running.

Only thing I could find was below link:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/hybrid/connect/how-to-connect-sync-change-serviceacct-pass

Please advice.

Yea, I would do that if its not working. ITs not working now so what do you have to lose?

BTW, you may have some config backup
