Outlook Add-In on shared calendar with exchange 2019

Hi

I know that there is a new property on Office API version 1.8 called <SupportsSharedFolders>.
But version 1.8 is not supported on any on-prem exchange version.
So my question, is there any workaround or hack to make an add-in visible on outlook if a share calendar is selected with exchange server 2019?

Hi @avitkiba ,

As I know, it is indeed impossible to get add-ins from a shared calendar in Outlook desktop client. And Microsoft provides two workarounds for this issue:

If you have full access to the shared mailbox and are not a delegate of it, add the shared mailbox as an additional account in Outlook.
Use Outlook on the web to open the shared mailbox calendar and create the meeting request with the Office add-in.

Thanks a lot for your answer. I also found the page with those workarounds. But mostly it's used by secretaries and they normally don't have full access.
I hoped that there is an inofficial hack, just to make sure, the add-in appears. We don't really need the functionality of the new API 1.8.
Our add-in just needs the know, who is the owner of the calendar.

Why does microsoft stop API development on 1.5 for their latest exchange on-premise version (2019) ? In my opinion it is a crucial feature for creating
Outlook add-ins.

I'm sure a lot of people out there, would be happy if the feature "SupportsSharedFolders" would be available on on-prem as well.

Thanks for your feedback.
I tried some search about some other develop workarounds to that but failed to get any useful information. If you still would like this feature, it is suggested for you to post your idea in the User voice, then other users will could vote on it for you, Microsoft may notice it and add it in the later version.

Sorry for answering that late. Thanks a lot for preparing the feature request.
It looks like the second workaround is also not working anymore since the latest exchange patches.

This is a pretty bad situation now. Outlook add-ins are absolutly useless now, if you have exchange on premise and need support for shared calendars..
@Microsoft: Can you please re-enable the web workaround on the next patch?
