Recycle Bin of Windows 10 not working proparly

Hello,

This trouble has been annoying me for so long.

My recycle bin doesn't work proparly.

I can delete files and empty them by CMD commands(looked up on youtube) and thirdparty softwares that helps deleting.

But the recycle bin doesn't show if it has something in it as shown below. And the "Empty Recycle Bin" button is greyed out.

I can view files that I want to delete in the bin. Like shown.

But I still cannot empty the trash can, except I can manually delete each file.

I tried to use select "properties" but I get this:

Can someone help me with this?

I don't want to manully delete files by CMD everytime.

So, problem solved.

My computer installed CCcleaner, though uninstalled.

A guy named Kaljukass, on the post: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/629866/recycle-bin/, gave reasoning:

So, basically, if the recycle bin is corrupted and cannot be fixed by CMD.

use this as he suggested:

Create a Txt file, copy and paste codes. change the extension "txt" to "reg". Name the file "recyclebin.reg". And then run this reg file.

I am sharing this because this fixed my problem, and I hope other people who are having this issue can also solve it by this method.

Maybe he got this from someone else, but at least this is what I could find.

Hi BanditryHB,

Open the Settings App

Go to Personalization - Themes - Desktop icon settings

Turn off the Recycle Bin

Close the Settings App

Right click your desktop and select New folder.

In the name field, copy-paste the following and hit Enter:

Recycle bin.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

The folder will automatically convert into the Recycle Bin

Check if that new shortcut works correctly

I've tried what you asked me to do, and it didn't seem to help.

Your mehtod of inputing CMD command to restart Recycle Bin is similar to this youtube video. I tried this also.

But thank you anyway, is there any other solutions?

I am Dave, I will help you with this, it sounds like your Recycle Bin is Corrupt:

Open a Command Prompt window as administrator:

(Click your Start Button, type cmd, right click Command Prompt in the resulting list and choose 'Run as Administrator')

Paste the following command and hit Enter:

rd /s /q C:$Recycle.bin

Close the Command Prompt window and restart your system

When your system starts up:

Create a new text file on your desktop and delete it to recreate a new recycle bin on your C Drive
