Grant Network Share to a local user in another Workgroup Server ?

There is a request to grant a Network Share to a local administrative account "Remote_User" from a Workgroup server named "RemoteWG" Server.

When I attempt to add the permission, I find that I can only assign users either as Domain User or local account of the server BUT not from a remote workgroup server.

Is there any suggestion ?

Thanks

    Hi ,

Based on my understanding, the shared folder is in domain joined computer A. You want add a permission for a local user in a Workgroup Server B. Is that right? Please feel free to let me know if I have any misunderstanding.

You cannot add the permission for another Workgroup users. But you can create a local account on A&B with the exact same username and password. And then give this account permission to access the share.

    Best Regards,

    Candy
