Can I update drivers using a third party software?

I am using Windows 8.1 Pro x64.

Recently when I scanned for my Drivers using a third party software, I came to know that there are many updates for Drivers available for my laptop.

I took a screen shot of what I saw.

You can see that there are 19 drivers outdated. I don't know if it is real.

And when I clicked on "Get Drivers", I got the following.

It is told that "Keep your computer's drivers updated for a better performance of your PC".

  1. So, should I install the outdated drivers?
  2. Why didn't my PC report about outdated drivers (if they are real) before I used this third party software?
  3. Is it safe to install the drivers recommended by third party softwares?

Additional info: My Windows Update is updated and there are no pending updates to be installed.

    Hi,

I would not ever under any circumstances recommend the use of 3rd party driver update software. Despite what they all advertise, they install outdated/buggy drivers. In most cases, they are also crapware that install malicious drivers, programs, etc.

Always get your drivers directly from the manufacturers website, and not Windows Update, Device Manager (accesses Windows Update servers), 3rd party, etc.

    Regards,

    Patrick

I do not recommend using a program like this.  Instead, only get drivers directly from the manufacturer that built the computer, such as Dell or Asus.
