changing main account in Outlook classic 2021

Question

I was set-up in Outlook classic 2021 with the myname.outlook.com account. It is added as an Exchange datafile type.

I want to remove that and use an IMAP datafile (google) and make that the default.

Can I do that? What are the consequences if I switch?

According to your description, i understand that you are using two accounts in one Outlook profile and you want to remove the Exchange account and set the Gmail account as default account, right?

If so, you can click File>Account Setting>Account Settings...>Select the Exchange account, click Remove.
