Can SAP CDC Connector support variables (parameter) of CDS Views

We want to load data from S/4HANA to Azure with the CDC Connector. The CDS View contains variables for exchange rate type and currency.

Question: Is it possible to maintain these parameters/variables within the CDC Connector and transfer them back to S/4HANA?

The SAP CDC Connector, which uses the SAP Operational Data Provisioning framework, is great for complex data extraction and replication. However, it doesn’t naturally support keeping and sending specific parameters like exchange rate type and currency back to S/4HANA.

While the CDC Connector captures and transfers data changes efficiently, it doesn’t manage the parameters used in CDS Views. These parameters are usually applied to filter data at the source before extraction.

To keep and transfer these parameters, you might need custom logic. This could involve pre-processing to ensure the parameters are correctly applied in the CDS View before data extraction. Additionally, post-processing using Azure services like Azure Data Factory or Logic Apps can handle these parameters and potentially send them back to S/4HANA through custom integration.

If you need to send parameters back to S/4HANA, additional integration workflows would likely be required. This could involve using SAP’s APIs or other integration tools to update the parameters in S/4HANA after the data has been processed in Azure.

thanks for your answer. We will now adapt our CDS views accordingly and restrict them by setting fixed values within the S/4HANA System.
