Hi All,

Do we need to register SPN’s for installed management servers in SCOM 2019 as like we did in SCOM 2007 and SCOM 2012 R2.
In SCOM 2019 Documentation I didn't find any related information about it . Can any one confirm on this.

If any specific steps need to be fallowed, please share the info about it.

Regards,
Ravi Shankar

    Hi @shankar431 ,

I want to add some comments to the article Leon referenced. Let me explain:
You should register the SPN as described by Kevin Holman in the article.

What you cannot prevent, is the logging of the SPN related alert in SCOM:

The System Center Data Access service failed to register an SPN.

This will be logged further, because after each restart the service account (SDK) will try to update it SPN automatically and this will NOT work unless the account is member of the Domain Admins. In almost all cases you will have to set an Override (Enabled = false) for the particular alert.

    The rule is:

** Data Access Service SPN Registration**

I hope I could help out.

(Still valid for newer SCOM versions)
