We are having the same Problem within Teams. Since 1-2 Days people are not able to access their files from time to time.

We are facing the same problem since yesterday. Some users can't open the file tab of some channels in different teams. The same error message "Your file directory is set up" is being shown.
Another interesting fact: if you open the chat of the channel and click on "Open in Sharepoint", a completely new sharepoint site "Your Teamswebsite" is being opened. This site is completely empty without any content.
The correct sharepoint site for this team still exists since it can be found on the general sharepoint site overview. It seems like some channels have lost the connection the the corresponding sharepoint site and therefore to the corresponding document library.
It seems like there's a general problem which can only be fixed by Microsoft :-/

Not really a fix but to give our employees access to the files I told them to login at office.com, open sharepoint, search for the specific team and open the document library.
This library could also be synchronized with OneDrive for a fast access. That's only a workaround until Microsoft offers a fix for this problem.

You can always just add a new tab called "Document library" which offers a direct link to your team's document library on SharePoint. Should work for the time being. It's the easiest option to go with as you won't have to redirect your users/students/employees to office.com.
