I created an Outlook Add-in with Smart Alerts to check for attachments while composing an email. I assigned a task pane to the "Don't Send" button of the Smart Alerts dialog, and according to the documentation, closing the Smart Alerts dialog should open the specified task pane. However, in the web version of Outlook, the specified task pane does not open when closing the Smart Alerts dialog, unlike the Outlook desktop version where it does open. How can I resolve this?

Steps to reproduce:

  • Install and configure an Outlook Add-in with Smart Alerts.
  • Assign a specified task pane to the "Don't Send" button of the alert dialog.
  • Create an email with attachments.
  • Click on the send button.
  • The Smart Alerts dialog appears.
  • Click on the close button of the Smart Alerts dialog.
  • In the web version of Outlook, the dialog is closed but the specified task pane is not opened, unlike the Outlook desktop version where the specified task pane is opened when the dialog is closed.
