Hi there,

I am looking for evidence of a Microsoft Application Development Lifecycle covering design, security, controls, etc. I am currently performing a risk assessment on Microsoft applications focusing on SQL and AD. While I have found learning articles for Azure and cloud services, I am struggling to find evidence for on-prem apps.

Are there any resources available that could help me find documented evidence for the Microsoft Application Development Lifecycle for on-prem applications?

Thank you for your time in advance

    Hi @Craig Garland

Regarding SQL Server lifecycle, see this doc.

Each version of SQL Server is backed by a minimum of 10 years support, which includes five years in mainstream support, and five years in extended support:

    • Mainstream support includes functional, performance, scalability, and security updates.
    • Extended support includes only security updates.

End of support (also sometimes known as end of life) indicates that a product has reached the end of its lifecycle, and servicing and support is no longer available for the product. For more information about the Microsoft Lifecycle, see Microsoft Lifecycle Policy.

    Best regards,

    Cosmog
