And for what do you need these (client) features directly on the server?

You get add-on from Download SQL Server extended features and tools

    Hi @Naik, Gourish,

Thank you for your reaching out and welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

When a feature is marked deprecated, it means:

    • The feature is in maintenance mode only. No new changes are made, including changes to address interoperability with new features.
    • We strive not to remove a deprecated feature from future releases to make upgrades easier. However, under rare situations, we might choose to permanently discontinue (remove) the feature from SQL Server if it limits future innovations.
    • For new development work, don't use deprecated features. For existing applications, plan to modify applications that currently use these features as soon as possible.

We recommend you may use SQL Server 2019 temporarily if you have demand for these features.

You may share your suggestions with the SQL Server product team here to callback the features.

Feel free to share your issues here if you have any concerns!

    Best regards,

    Lucy Chen
