Azure and Docusign user provisioning

I'm looking into setting up provisioning for Docusign using Azure. What kind of provisioning does Azure support for Docusign currently? I read online that it supports JIT provisioning, however I wanted to clarify. Also is it possible to set up auto/SCIM-based user provisioning or no? Additionally, is this JIT provisioning with Docusign and Azure one-way sync (changes propagated from Azure to Zoom) or bidirectional sync (changes are shared between Azure and Docusign). Are there any roles that I need to configure on Azure's side? (for example, for Zoom user provisioning there is an option to select role/license).

What are things I might need to consider if I'm enabling user provisioning with users already in my Docusign environment? IS there kind of manual work I need to do on my end before enabling user provisioning?

    Hi @Danish Abbasi

Thank you for posting this in Microsoft Q&A.

I understand that you want to know about Azure/Entra and DocuSign user provisioning.

DocuSign supports both Just-In-Time (JIT) provisioning and Auto/SCIM-based provisioning. JIT provisioning allows you to automatically create user accounts in DocuSign when a user logs in for the first time using their Entra ID credentials. SCIM-based provisioning, on the other hand, allows you to automatically create, update, and delete user accounts in DocuSign based on changes made in Entra ID.

The provisioning can be set up as bidirectional sync, meaning that changes made in either Entra ID or DocuSign will be propagated back and forth. However, this depends on the configuration and settings that you choose during the setup process.

Before configuring and enabling the provisioning service, you need to decide what users and/or groups in Microsoft Entra ID represent the users who need access to your DocuSign app. Once decided, you can assign these users to your DocuSign. When assigning a user to DocuSign, you must select a valid user role. The "Default Access" role does not work for provisioning.

You need to provide admin credentials for user provisioning. The attribute mapping between Entra ID and DocuSign can be configured during the setup process. You can map Entra ID attributes to DocuSign attributes to ensure that the correct user information is passed between the two systems. The specific attribute mapping will depend on your specific use case and requirements.
