I'm not able to remove custom extension from my Microsoft Entra tenant

I tried to configure a AttributeCollectionSubmit (Preview) custom extension. It didn't work for me and I decided to do it in a different way, but creating a new TokenIssuanceStart extension. Now I'm trying to remove this failing extension but it doesn't allow me to do it:

Custom extension delete
Cannot delete custom extension xxxxxxx-b4cf-4de1-b4a7-7f758700b675: The custom extension is in used by the listener of id xxxxxx-ea75-4868-aec9-2e05d5f3943d.

How do I find this "listener" and get rid of this dependency?

Could you please help me with the steps you have followed to delete custom extension, and the error screen shot what you see. Also check the Audit logs and see is there any error you could find.

Unfortunately, since it happened over 7 days ago, I don't have exact logs anymore. The screenshot would just show a standard operation error on the snackbar in the right top corner of the azure portal.

Steps (from my memory, because I already deleted this tenant to unblock my work):

I created a new Entra External ID tenant (I did it in ~May, I know the UI changed a bit since then)

I created 2 apps: One representing my web app and another representing my API

I created a SignInSignUp workflow

I created a new extensions: AttributeCollectionSubmit (Preview)

Tested it a few times with my API endpoint, but even when the endpoint returned a HTTP 200 OK response with a response JSON with a structure in documentation it was still failing on the flow (advising me to talk with IT department).

Decided to use only stable TokenIssuanceStart extension with similar endpoint.

It was still failing so I tried to delete the old extension. This is when I received the error:

Custom extension delete Cannot delete custom extension xxxxxxx-b4cf-4de1-b4a7-7f758700b675: The custom extension is in used by the listener of id xxxxxx-ea75-4868-aec9-2e05d5f3943d.

I am having the same issue. I want to recreate a custom authentication extension, and I happened to delete the related app first. Now, I cannot delete the custom extension, and I believe it is because I have already removed the app.

I might have figured it out, I needed to remove the Custom authentication extension from the user flow. After that, I could remove it. The error message could have been a bit more helpful though ;)
