microsoft SQL Server Management studio login failed for user '<token-identified principal> sql database

Hi,

I have trouble connecting to my company's SQL database and the following appears:

However, I do have connection to the web version of Microsoft Azure.

Could you please assist?

Can you check if the SQL Server is configured to use Windows Authentication only? If you're trying to log in with SQL Server Authentication, you need to change the authentication mode.

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

As I understand, you could not login to Azure SQL DB via SSMS and getting token error.

Please try to update your SSMS to latest version

Check that the Azure SQL Database firewall allows your IP address to connect.

Check via Azure portal "Query Editor" also if works fine from there.

As suggested above by Vinodh, check your auth method.
