Thank you for your reaching out and welcome to Microsoft Q&A!
From the error information you provided, here are my suggestions:
- Please check if this ODBC Driver exists in the control panel -> uninstall program page (it will get confused when the existing driver is not of the same version as in the installation package), please uninstall the existing ODBC Driver and the failed installation SQL Server, then reinstall SQL Server as administrator, if the installation still fails, please manually Download ODBC Driver for SQL Server.
- In addition, if you preinstalled SSMS, you could also get the same error message you post.
- You can also try to uninstall OLE DB and reinstall the SQL Server.
- If the methods above do not work, could you please post the detailed log here to help us narrow down the issue?
Thanks for your understanding. Your time and cooperation are much valued by us. We are looking forward to hearing from you to assist further.
Best regards,
Lucy Chen
