File randomly says permissions changed even though they haven't.

Have a user who has full edit permissions to the parent folder and all files inside of it through the members group in SharePoint Online. At random while they are editing a file it comes up and says the permissions on this file were updated and you no longer have rights to view this file. If you previously made changes to this file, they may not be saved.

They can be working in the file for a couple of hours and then at random it does this. Wait a little bit and then they can work in it again just fine for a while and then repeat.

There were no changes to the file permission and no one else was doing anything with the file.

    Hi @Jon Mercer,

This issue usually occurs the user trying to access the document is logged into an account that's different to the account logged into Microsoft Office. The user will need to sign out of Office, and then sign back into the correct account before trying to access the document again. You could go to office.com to sign out.
