Windows activation required for a Windows 10 purchase from MS Store even though I have a valid license.

Question

I purchased MS Surface Go tablet on Aug 13, 2018. Also purchased the keyboard. Since I just recently starting using the tablet, Windows 10 (version 1803) had asked for the Installation ID. Even though each individual ID was accepted, Windows rejected the entire Installation ID. Why? Even though I upgraded my Windows 10 from Version 1803 to Version 22H2, Windows 10 is still asking for it to be activated, via purchase of a valid license (even though I had already purchased Windows 10 when I purchased the tablet in 2018. I cannot justify the purchase of yet another valid license. Any suggestions? Please help. Thank you.

Try to activate the system offline. Windows might not be able to connect to the servers it needs to in order to verify your license
