Teams Option: File Open Preference (Desktop App) missing for a New computer.

Question

I am migrating to a new computer and I have downloaded teams and both old(Windows10 and new one has same version of Teams

However, I don't seem to have option from teams to open to App directly for the new computer when my older one has that setting - I hate online or teams - I want always to open apps in any way possible and this is bothering me.

OLD computer (Same Account, Same Teams Version,windows 10)

NEW computer (Same Account, Same Teams Version, Windows 11)

What am I missing here?

Could you please tell me:

Do you have these apps (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) installed on your computer?

According to our test, when these apps are not installed on your computer, the "Desktop app" option will not appear in the "File open preference".

After downloading, the "Desktop app" option will appear.

If the option still does not appear after downloading, try clearing the Teams cache:

I have the same problem. All workers in our company have M365 Business Premium. I have Macbook, and i can set default open files to local app (word, excel...)but other workers which have windows, in settings Microsoft Teams has only option : Open in teams, or open in browser...

A loot of people have the same problem. And this is wery weird that Macbook have this option, and windows not...

We tried reinstall all office, delete cache and still the same.
Microsoft - please HELP.
