Why i have lost some of my Excel links to other excel workbook?

When i open my main excel file it says "recover if you trust the file?" . When i said yes and it was repaired, some of the links to other excel files were already broken. What is the cause of this as i keep on repeating the link and losing it again. Using MS Office 2019 Standard. Excel 2019 MSO version 1808.

    Where did you save the file?

    How did you open it?

    If this problem appear in specific file, I suggest you right click the file and click the Properties- under General tab- and check if the file is blocked, unblock the file and try again.
