Massive Issues after the W11 24H2 Update
Hello all,
I have an MSI System (Infinite x2 14th) that has been running smoothly for about half a year. Since the update to 24H2, things have gone downhill rather quickly.
It started with games such as War Thunder crashing more and more often, and ultimately led to even Edge crushing routinely. The errors I have experience included Crashes to Desktops, regular App Crashes (with an App error code), bluescreens, instant PC restarts.
I tried re-installing the device, but the same issues happened here: Crashes to desktop, or simple error messages prevented me from re-installing windows.
Since I first expected a Hardware issue, I sent the PC to the vendor I got the system from. They formated the harddrive and re-installted the device, tested it and it ran fine.
I got the system back, and everything worked fine for about half a day. Now, the same issues are back again. I cant launch the NVIDIA app to roll back the drivers, I can't re-install the device..
Any ideas?

2025-01-27T16:34:44+00:00 24H2 is an optional update, not critical, I'm gessiing that you set the option to "Get lateste updates' - a bad move
Win11 by default only installs critical security updates, unless you made the mistake of selecting “Get latest updates” which includes drivers.
See your laptop/PC makers support to update both bios and ALL drivers.
There should be a shortcut to that makers update utility on your system.
Then set Bios to defaults & Pwr to balanced. At the end of the day shutdown, do not leave in sleep.
Do NOT update from any other source inc Device Manager
You may be unaware, but its been turned on and is being pushed to everyone not just those who have "Get the latest..." turned on and is not an optional update. Sadly it is still causing hardware issues.

2025-01-20T15:19:41+00:00 Okay, thanks, I am working through the steps atm.
24H2 is an optional update, not critical, I'm gessiing that you set the option to "Get lateste updates' - a bad move => I had that setting on off, I was actually reckless enough to do the h2 update by myself - an even worse move? :D. "Oh, an optional Update - oh well, what could go wrong?". I will do my research next time. Lesson learned.
See your laptop/PC makers support to update both bios and ALL drivers => I have flashed the BIOS to the most current version
Then set Bios to defaults & Pwr to balanced => You mean reset to factory settings?
At the end of the day shutdown, do not leave in sleep. => I always shut down completely.
Do NOT update from any other source inc Device Manager => Wdym? W11 updates?
