Is it "Really" safe to delete temp files?

last time when i deleted %temp% files it had black screen of death I had to do factory reset about an year ago

can someone answer if i should do it again? I'm really nervous

    They are temporary location and are safe to delete it.

    Not sure what happens last time and I believe it might be due to other issues.

    It keeps files which could be deleted later on.

    In case you are not sure about cleaning them, you may try run Disk Cleanup which is a safe way to remove all unnecessary files from your system.

    Both of these, temp and disc cleanup made my computer black screen, do you have any idea why?

    Update: just deleted every single %temp% file and no harm caused to the computer

    keep in mind:

    disc cleanup might be not recommended

    Not sure, running the Disk cleanup is safe and in general you should look into the event viewer to investigate what caused this issue.
