Hello! My name is Eric, and I’d be glad to help you troubleshoot this Quick Access issue.

To start, here are a few steps to try that might resolve the problem:

    1. Reset Quick Access settings:

    • Open File Explorer.

    • Right-click on “Quick Access” in the left pane and select Options.

    • Go to the View tab.

    • Under Folder views, click Reset Folders.

    • Click Apply and then OK.

    1. Perform a Clean Boot of Windows 11:**

This can help identify if a background service or startup program is causing the issue. Here’s how to perform a Clean Boot: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, could you clarify:

    • How are you currently viewing your file history in Quick Access?

    • How exactly are you updating the Quick Access option?

These details can help us pinpoint the root cause of the issue.

    Thanks,

    Eric

    Hi B,

I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

Apologies for any inconvenience you are experiencing. We are happy to help you.

Let us try resetting the Quick Access once. The file where Quick Access is stored might be corrupt.

    In the Windows search,

type cmd, right-click it, and choose run as administrator.

    Execute:

    del /f /s /q /a "%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations\f01b4d95cf55d32a.automaticDestinations-ms"

Restart the PC and let me know how that goes.

I look forward to your response and am eager to collaborate until we find a solution.

I have Windows 10 and I lose "Recent files" frequently. All I have to do to regain it is to do the following:

Right click on Quick Access and choose "Options"

      Choose View Tab

             Click "Reset folders"

Confirm (ok) that you want to do this

    and Voila! Recent files reappears.
