I have seen a lot of folks ask this question but have come across any way to do add a timer to the meeting presentation on MS teams. Thanks!

I couldn't find the "preset timer" app anywhere, even looking at the policies in Teams App Management console.

I found an alternative using Power Automate to set up a timer and notification within a channel, chat, or meeting. It's pretty useful IMHO and wanted to share.

How to set up a timer from a Teams Meeting

    1. Open Teams Application.
    2. On top ribbon, click on Apps button.
    3. Click on Get more apps button.
    4. Under Apps in top left, search for keyword “timer”.
    5. Click on Start a timer workflow.
    6. Click Add to create the timer workflow.
    7. Name your timer workflow.
    8. Click Sign in to permission your workflow.
    9. Click Add workflow button to publish the timer workflow.
    10. After a few minutes, you will receive a “Workflow added successfully” message. Now you have a timer app installed in your Teams Client and can use in a Team Channel, Chat, or Meeting.
    11. From within a Team Channel Post, Chat, or Meeting Chat where you type messages:
      1. Click on ellipsis (…) button.
      2. Click on … More apps button.
      3. Click on Workflows button.
      4. Click on your Timer Workflow.
      5. Enter Count (how many seconds, minutes, etc.)
      6. Enter Unit (seconds, hours, etc.)
      7. Click Submit
      8. When the specified time has passed, everyone will receive a message in chat.
    12. Repeat as necessary.

    Hi Rahul,

Thank you for reaching out to this forum. I'm Utkarsh and as a fellow Microsoft user, I'm here and ready to help you today. I am a user like you, this is a user forum and not Microsoft directly.

I would be more than happy to answer any other questions should you have them.

Yes, there are several apps that can display a timer during a Microsoft Teams presentation. Here are some options:

    1. Use a Third-Party Timer App or Website: You can use a separate timer app or website on your computer or mobile device and position it in a way that it's visible to you during the presentation. There are many timer apps available for various platforms that you can run concurrently with Microsoft Teams.
    2. There is an app that can display a timer during a Microsoft Teams presentation. It's called the "Preset Timer" app. This app allows you to add a countdown timer to your meeting presentation in Microsoft Teams. Here's how you can add and use the Preset Timer app:

    a. Open Microsoft Teams and go to the meeting where you want to add the timer. b. Click on the "..." (ellipsis) button in the meeting toolbar. c. Select "Apps" from the menu that appears. d. In the Apps pane, search for "Preset Timer" and select it from the results. e. Click on the "Add" button to add the app to your meeting. f. Once the app is added, you can find it in the meeting toolbar. g. Click on the Preset Timer app icon to open it. h. In the Preset Timer app, you can set the duration of the timer and choose the format (countdown or count-up). i. Click on the "Start" button to start the timer. The timer will now be displayed in your meeting presentation.

    1. Share Your Screen with a Timer: Another option is to share your screen with a timer displayed. You can create a PowerPoint slide with a timer, set it to display on your screen, and then share your screen during the Teams meeting. This way, participants will see the timer along with your presentation.

Thank you for posting this case in Microsoft Community! I am Microsoft user just like you hope you are well.

    I am NOT a Microsoft Agent/Employee.

I hope this is helpful! Best Regards, Utkarsh

Thank you for this answer, but is anyone else blown away by the archaic nature of this task? Why is it so hard to just have a clock or a timer option that is available for every meeting by default--or even just a one click feature I turn on like recording a meeting is a selected option?
