Sound is very low even at 100% volume

Hello,

I've been having troubles with my machine's sound settings. I recently switched to a new desk setup, and on my old desk setup, my speakers were working fine. But when I switched to my new desk setup, the speakers became extremely quiet. I can only hear them modestly when I raise my volume to 100% and to max my speaker's volume settings as well. The same happens when I wear headphones: when I plug them in, I have to raise my volume to 100% to hear anything, but even then it is extremely low. All of my wires seem to be plugged in directly, and I checked the volume mixer settings to see if anything was lowered, but everything seems normal. I'm not sure what to do at this point and I'm hoping I can get a fix soon. Thanks in advanced.

    Hi ZFabley

How are you? I hope you are doing good.

Welcome to Microsoft Community. I am Juliet, an independent advisor and a user like you.

It's my pleasure to help you today. I know how frustrating this may be for you but I'll do my best to help you :)

May I know what other troubleshooting steps have you tried?

I would suggest you run the Sound Playback troubleshooter at Settings>Update & Security>Troubleshoot.

    Also, try the ff suggestions:

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Device Manager

Expand Sound, video and game controllers

    Right click your audio adapter

    Click Properties

    Click the Driver tab

    Is there an option rollback?

    If so, click it.

Open Start, type: change sound card

    Select the Playback

    Right click your Speakers

Click Set as Default Device if it isn't already

    Select your speakers

    Click Properties

    Click the Levels tab

Use the slider to adjust level

I hope it helps! Let us know the result,

    We'll wait for your update.
