Microsoft Edge closed unexpectedly

Question

I constantly get the pop up the edge has close unexpectantly. I have uninstalled and reinstalled edge with the same results My windows 10 is up to date yet problem continues. I have run scan disk and memory tests and everything checks out. Any suggestions?

Method 1: Check for Microsoft Edge Update

1. Open Microsoft Edge, click the three (3) dots on the upper right corner.
2. Click Help and feedback on the lower part.
3. Click About Microsoft Edge.
4. It will automatically check for update, if not, click the Check for updates button.
5. Download and install the update, restart your computer once done and check if the issue is fixed.

Method 2: Repair Microsoft Edge

1. Press windows key + I to open settings.
2. Select Apps.
3. On the left pane select Apps and features.
4. Look for Microsoft Edge and click it then select Modify.
5. A window will pop-up, click Yes.
6. Click the Repair button, follow the steps on your screen.

Method 3: Run System File Checker

1. Open command prompt (Run as administrator)
2. Type each command below and press enter, wait until scan is completed.

sfc /scannow

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Quick note: Please be patient, it's expected to see the process stuck at 20 or 40 percent. After a few minutes, the process will complete successfully.

3. Close the command prompt.
