HP elitedesk 800 G4 mini 64bit - update to 24H2 and many drivers no longer work. Have deleted and reinstalled and tried driver update which fixed a few. Still have issues with;

Sound (via screen) no longer works but now have mono sound via direct connected.

No network connected printers (Device Manager Microsoft IPP Class Driver - "Windows is still setting up the class configuration for this device. (Code 56)" But never finish's doing this. Effects Cannon & Brother printers both connected via WiFi router.

Odin connect for Android phone no longer works in download mode.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks Duncan

    Hello

Thank you so much for offering to help.

I have now done a windback to 23H2 as I am running out of time before this is not an option. As reported on other posts this has not fixed all issues as some 24H2 drivers must remain. Speakers still do not work. I have to stay with the old style D sub screen cable not HDMI. Have got one printer working. Have had to reinstall MS Office which was wiped?

Its a lesson to make a backup before accepting a major upgrade.

For what its worth I did a screen shot below.

Still got lots to do to get it working again.

    Thanks

    Duncan

    Thank you for the clarification.

    >>Office 2021 was installed after 24H2 update and disappeared with rollback to 23H2 but has reinstalled OK (reinstall is always a risk!)

Yes, this is expected because rolling back just restores the exact pre version during the update!

Happy to help you for any other help :)

Thanks, Duncan. It is always a good idea to roll back if things do not work. I am surprised that office was not present after rollback. Did you do it from Settings > System > Recovery?

Meanwhile, I see a BIOS update available for your device. Next time you consider upgrading, please update BIOS as it increases a reliability.

For future, I recommend updating manually if you want to try.

Download an ISO file and Run Setup.exe to Start the Upgrade, using Windows 11 Media Creation Tool.

All the steps, including MCT and Installation Assistant, are covered here:
