hanging indent not working

I have a weird problem. I have my hanging indent set, and it works on all lines except one of them (this is not the first or last line, but one in the middle). I can fix this by removing the space between the last word in the previous line and the first word in the new line. When I do this, it combines them into one word and puts it on the problematic line and indents it properly. But obviously I want to have a space between the two words.

I do have the paragraph marks turned on and I am not starting a separate paragraph. It is just a space between words that is causing that problem. Again, this is just on one line. All the other lines in the paragraph are indenting properly. I am stumped.

Thanks in advance.

I was using local formatting. I tried using a paragraph style and it seems to be fixed now.

If this happens again, see if displaying nonprinting marks gives any clues. You can use the ¶ button on the Home tab (acts as a toggle).

Have the same problem in Office 365 version of WORD. Some days it works and tonight it is not working.  Do you guys even do validation testing or do you just push a product to make a quick buck?? I have no idea how you guys never learn on your software deployments.

So, what's the fix?? Let me guess another patch??

Is the hanging indent set up in a Style, or is it local formatting you applied to text with the Paragraph section of the Ribbon?

If possible, please upload the document to DropBox, OneDrive or other cloud storage, then post a link here and one of us will take a look.

Update: This is now happening with another line in the paragraph. This line is the beginning of a new sentence, but not the beginning of a new paragraph.
