Hi Deepak. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 year Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator here to help you.

I would manually upgrade to the latest version 1909 by opening the Media Creation Tool from this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m..., choose Download Tool Now, then open the tool and choose Upgrade This PC Now. This saves your files, apps and most settings in place, is the most stable method to change versions, brings your Updates current, resolves most problems.

If any problems report back the verbatim error and number, then continue with these steps for overcoming Version Upgrade problems: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

If the Version has problems I will work with you to try to resolve them. If the problems are unfixable for now, you have ten days to roll it back in Recovery settings. You can then hide it so it doesn't try to reinstall following this same method: https://www.howtogeek.com/223864/how-to-uninsta...

Most problems are resolved by doing this gold standard Clean Install which should get you past all difficulties as it has millions of others who have followed the steps in this link and never come back to report another problem: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki... . So read it over and see if its something you want to learn to do.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you will wait to rate my post, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

    Hello,

Currently i have version 1809 , fully updated , and I tried twice to perform the upgrade to 1903 first and 1909 last time.

No chance to get all peripherals installed ed in details this is what i miss after installation:

    • Wireless mouse/keyboard Microsoft 2000 or Logitech keyboard & Microsoft mouse (Not Recognized )
    • Printer HP P1006
    • Scanner Epson VT100
    • Some piece if software
    • Desktop shortcuts

After installation , installing a wired mouse & keyboard , and rebooting the system , windows still do not recognize

Printer & Scanner.  Microsoft PDF Print is missed.

So just Reloaded the image i did before updates.

    Regards

Windows 10 was supposed to be the last version of Windows, but they've just hidden the product name as a version number rather than the headline on the box. I call BS.

I remember in 1995 sitting in my parents' spare room watching the HDD on their PC spin while it did whatever the IT profession deemed it was necessary for it to be doing, rather than helping me achieve things.  A quarter of a century later, I am still going to have to waste my time watching their month old machine do a massive system update rather than something useful. Is the IT industry likely to reach any degree of professionalism before I die?

    Greg Carmack,

I recently attempted to install the windows 10 version 1909, updating from version 1809. It appears that the install completed, but it boots up very slowly and when I sign in the desktop is not visible, only wallpaper and it never really seems to completely sign in. I am not an expert by any means and my laptop is about 8 years old. Hoping you might be up for helping me get it going. I briefly read thru this thread and it looks like doing a clean install is the way to go, but that is a bit intimidating, as i do not want to lose any data. I believe i have everythimg backed up om an external hard drive, but even so, not sure how to proceed.

    Any help is much appreciated,

    Joey
