Dear Forum Members,

I ran the Microsoft resource and performance monitor. It tells me that the ave. disk queue length is 2.

What is that?

Should I be concerned?

Thanks!

    What it means:

    • A value of 2 it means on an average, there are 2 I/O operations waiting to be processed.

    Should I be concerned?

Generally, an average disk queue length of 2 is not immediately concerning for most systems.

    Hi,

Avg. Disk Queue Length tracks the number of requests that are queued and waiting for a disk during the sample interval, as well as requests in service. As a result, this might overstate activity. If more than two requests are continuously waiting on a single-disk system, the disk might be a bottleneck. To improve the disk performance, you may upgrade your disks or establish striped volumes.

    Best Regards,
