I reproduced this behavior on my device. I think this behavior is by design. Maybe the sorting feature is only used when it is opened, and the sorted sequence cannot be saved. But I still searched for relevant resources to see if there are any related records. I did not find any resources about solving this. My only suggestion now is that you can press " Shift+Alt+I" to submit feedback in Edge. Thank you for your understanding.
