If a public IP Prefix was purchased can it then be moved to a new CSP subscription and then reuse the assigned prefix value

A customer wants to purchase a Public IP Prefix to attach to their existing NVA then move the resources including the Public IP Prefixes to their new CSP subscription then redeploy the NVA in order to keep the same Public IP by using the the original Public IP Prefix assigned IP value.

I know that Custom IP address prefix (BYOIP) this is not possible.

For the Microsoft owned ranges using the IP address prefix can this be done?

For Microsoft-owned IP address prefixes, it is possible to move the resources🥳, including the Public IP Prefixes, to a new CSP (Cloud Solution Provider) subscription and redeploy the NVA while keeping the same Public IP address.

Here's a high-level overview of the steps:👇👇👇

Create a new Public IP Prefix in the new CSP subscription.

Update the NVA configuration to use the new Public IP Prefix.

Move the resources (including the original Public IP Prefix) to the new CSP subscription.

Redeploy the NVA in the new subscription, using the original Public IP Prefix's assigned IP value.

Microsoft allows IP address prefix migration within their owned ranges, enabling customers to maintain their existing IP addresses while moving resources between subscriptions.

However, please note that:

This process requires careful planning and coordination to avoid downtime or IP address conflicts.

It's essential to work closely with Microsoft support and your CSP partner to ensure a smooth migration.

Keep in mind that Custom IP address prefix (BYOIP) has different requirements and limitations, as you mentioned.🥰

Simply, Yes you can. Microsoft-owned IP address prefixes, you can move a Public IP Prefix between subscriptions with some limitations. It is possible within subscriptions but has a limitations. See: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-resource-manager/management/move-support-resources#microsoftnetwork

However, when doing this I will recommend you work with Support for smooth operation

For BYOIP it is not possible

If you want to move the Public IP address prefix from Azure to different CSP subscription, the redeployment of the NVA in a new CSP subscription with the same Public IP sourced from the original Public IP Prefix is not possible.

According to the Microsoft document, for Microsoft-owned IP address prefixes, the Public IP Address Prefix is possible to move between different subscriptions in azure but not across regions.
