For question regarding pricing / licensing please contact a Microsoft sales partner or licensing expert.
Please call 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist. Or you can go to Volume Licensing Service Center support. Please choose region/language and choose to call or have web. People there will help you more effectively.
Regards,
Zoe Hui

2024-09-11T10:35:28.38+00:00 Please elaborate if we purchase extended security updates under "Stay on-premises". What does it offers?
Yesterday, it was Patch Tuesday, and I was fed the regular Windows update. I was also fed security updates for my SQL 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2022 instances. I did not receive any updates for my SQL 2008, 2012 and 2014 instances.
I guess that if I had bought ESU for my SQL 2014 instance, I would also gotten an update for that instance. (As this is at home, and I only have all these instances for lab purpuses, getting ESU is out of the question.)
As for how to enroll in ESU, you would need to contact your local Microsoft sales office, I guess.
Or upgrade to a more modern version.
