It say's App Gateway Basic is in GA but can't find it on my subscription

I see TP has addressed your queries.

From this doc Deploy Application Gateway Basic , I see App GW Basic is still in Preview.

While a service is in preview, there is no SLA offered and there is no guarantee that you will not be required to create a new App Gateway going forward.

I would suggest you use this as a POC during Preview phase and recreate the App gateway once Basic is GA.

You can leverage "Export Template" blade from Portal to get IaaC configuration, which you can redeploy.

At the time the question was asked, Basic SKU had been announced as GA. Now it gives 404, so I'm guessing there is an issue or they announced too early. Screenshot below:

Currently, from the docs, I see this is in Preview.

I will check internally if we can share a Public facing ETA for GA of App Gateway Basic.

Hi Joe,

UPDATE 2024-09-18: According to @KapilAnanth-MSFT (see comment above) There was a miscommunication and Basic SKU isn't GA yet. ETA is tentatively November of this calendar year.

I don't think it has finished rolling out.

Please navigate to your subscription in the portal, next click on Settings -- Preview features blade on left. On right, enter "basic" into search box, select Allow creation of Application Gateway Basic V2 SKU, click Register, and then click OK to confirm.

Wait 20-30 minutes. It takes time for it to register, regardless of what the portal tells you, so be patient.

Freshly navigate to Create application gateway in portal. You should now see Basic sku in the Tier dropdown:

Hi... I assume we won't need to recreate the app gateway if we go this path? I know some preview features when created eg. Function all flex that we need to recreate once it is in GA?

There's been no mention of that in the documentation/articles regarding Basic SKU. In the past generally when there is some breaking change/requirement to delete/recreate like you describe, they have been clear about it and mention it in multiple places.

Of course there is always possibility that they forgot to document it. The GA announcement page now shows an error so I'm unsure what is going on.

Perhaps it isn't really GA yet, and they made a mistake publishing the announcement, unsure.

Microsoft has incorrectly communicated that this is in GA already but was advised as per their comment that they haven't release it and looking at November
