What's the deal with the small file status symbols on the bottom left of the desktop icons?

A similar question was asked concerning the cloud storage checkmarks, but what about the other symbols such as a magnifying glass or an arrow? This is on a windows 11 machine btw.

    The small arrow indicates it's a shortcut. The magnifying glass indicates that the Magnifier Tool is active.

    Press WIN+ESC to turn Magnifier Off.
