Does any patching happen automatically for a Customer Managed resource if it's past the end date for the only schedule in the Maintenance Configuration using Guest scope?

    Hi Paul Anthony,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform! Thank you for asking your question here.

If a maintenance configuration with a Guest scope has only one schedule and the end date for that schedule has passed, no automatic patching will occur for the customer-managed resource. Once the schedule has expired, the maintenance configuration becomes inactive, and updates are no longer applied.

    To ensure patching continues:

    • You will need to either extend the schedule's end date or
    • Create a new schedule within the maintenance configuration.

Patching within the Guest scope is fully controlled by the schedule defined in the maintenance configuration. After the end date, without any further active schedules, no patching will be performed.
