Hello,

I have a question about App service environment.

I have 3 Zone redundant App service environment deployed with 3 app service plans and each running 3 instances.

When i check the billing for the instances i see the minimum instance fee is lower for one of the ASE plan

All 3 are deployed with an I1V2 plan and as per MS billing model the minimum instance fee charged for these 3 ASE should be based on 6 I1V2. but of one of the ASE plan i see the minimum fee charged is only for 3 I1V2 ASE.

Does anyone know why there is a reduction for minimum instance fee for one of the ASE plan? Would appreciate if some one can provide any insights here.

Kumar K, Rithin (GDC-IA), Based on my understanding of your scenario description, it looks like you're experiencing an inconsistency in the billing for your ASE.

For a quick and closer investigation on this billing discrepancy, you may reach out to our Azure support to formally track this case.

Sharing some pointers below to isolate this issue :

If you haven't done, you consider to check the detailed billing statements for each ASE and compare the configurations and usage patterns.

    • Specifically, ASEv3 does not include a stamp fee (article), and you only pay for the Isolated V2 SKU rates for your App Service plans (ASP). This may result in lower costs if your ASEv3 is not fully utilized. ASEv3 has a different pricing model compared to previous versions.
    • Just to confirm/highlight, if you have reserved instances for one of your ASE plans, this could significantly reduce the cost. Azure offers discounts for reserving instances for 1-year or 3-year increments, which can lower the monthly cost by up to 55% per instance. -You may file a (free) support ticket with our Azure subscription support team, to create an Azure support request. Select Subscription Management for the issue type.
