How to specify a Jan 1 datetime in the 1900s in a Azure DevOps work item datetime field?

I need a datetime field in my Azure DevOps custom work item that takes historical dates. For some reason, whenever I enter 1/1/19** and save, then reopen the work item. The field now displays 1/1/20**. ex. 1900 becomes 2100! 1999 becomes 2099! There is no way to save Jan 1 1900s dates! previous centuries work fine...
