Unfortunately, there is no direct upgrade path from Windows Server 2008 HPC edition to any version of Windows Server 2012.

The recommended approach is to perform a clean installation of Windows Server 2012.

    Hello,

Upgrading from Windows Server 2008 HPC Edition to any version of Windows Server 2012 is not directly supported.

However, Windows Server 2012 has reached the end of its lifecycle in 2023 (without the purchase of an ESU).

Even if you perform a fresh update of Windows Server 2012, you can't receive latest updates to keep your system safe.

In this case, it is recommended that you purchase a newer version of Windows Server for technical support.
