Autofilter and Sort functions on Protected shared Excel file breaking down periodically with user's input

Hi all.

We are having quite an issue in our company: I did set up an Excel file with macros enabled that allowed, out of 62 columns and 402 rows; to basically input data in multiple ways across the columns (dropdowns, text, date...); as well as having some blocked columns not allowing input, that I did set on my own using "Format Cells" -> Protect.

I am, nonetheless, having a recurrent issue: When I protect the sheet on the "Review" tab, each time any particular user comes in, the options for Autofilter and Sort are literally killed, even though the sheet is protected. This is not a "single" situation: each time any user comes in, both the "Autofilter" and "Sort" option break down and disappear for no reason at all. This prompts me to go every five minutes, unprotect the sheet, and set up again these 2 conditions for reprotecting the sheet (and again, and again, and again...).

Does anybody know if there is an underlying issue I am missing? It is really difficult and frustrating to work like this; and I would really appreciate inputs as for why this might happen.

Thank you very much.

    Hi,

Where did you save the file? In local or OneDrive?

As you said the problem only appear in specific file, I suggest you try to run the administrator account to open the file and check if this problem is related to the users permission for accessing the folder.
