Hi everyone,

I installed an evaluation copy of Windows Server 2019. I have installed AD DS and DNS role from scratch following this guide in order to get a domain controller integrated with DNS.

https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/Windows-Server-2019-Step-4c0a3678/file/204046/1/Windows%20Server%202019-Step%20by%20Step%20Installation%20of%20Domain%20Controller.pdfhttps://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/Windows-Server-2019-Step-4c0a3678/file/204046/1/Windows%20Server%202019-Step%20by%20Step%20Installation%20of%20Domain%20Controller.pdf

I noticed that netlogon cannot register the needful dynamic dns records. EventViewer shows multiple Event ID 5774

I ran the command nltest.exe /dsregdns
nltest.exe /dsregdns

Flags: 0
Connection Status = 0 0x0 NERR_Success
The command completed successfully

DNS server service goes down repeatedly.50581-dcdiag.png

Can you please help me on this?

Thanks in advance
Regards

    Hi,

It seems the DC doesn't have a A DNS record , you can create it manually or set network card to be created automatically.
Check the DNS suffix on network is correct, and if the option to register this connection's address in DNS is enabled

    Run the following option :

    ipconfig /registerdns

I'd add the domain controller's own static ip address (192.168.43.10) listed for DNS then do ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /registerdns, restart the netlogon service.

Check the event logs for related errors.

If problems persist after corrections put up a new set of files to look at

    Please run;

    Dcdiag /v /c /d /e /s:%computername% >c:\dcdiag.log
    repadmin /showrepl >C:\repl.txt
    ipconfig /all > C:\dc1.txt
    ipconfig /all > C:\dc2.txt

then put unzipped text files up on OneDrive and share a link.

Not sure what you mean by last three files? What's errors are present the event logs since last boot?
