Help with implementing variables in Power Automate flows

At the moment I am developing an approval flow based on the date and subsequent combination of PDF, but I would like to know how to optimize it and/or reduce the use of links, paths and even steps by using variables, either as steps or even environment variables, what would be the best way to implement them, Or is there even an active course in Microsoft Learns that can help me understand that better?
