Unable to delete route server.

I have a trial account, tried to create a resource server from Terraform, it failed, resource is shown on portal but I cannot able to delete it from portal nor from AZ CLI. How can I get it deleted?

The resource ID is: "/subscriptions/e94e883e-7ed0-463c-976a-1fd3d87a936e/resourceGroups/aiven-resources/providers/Microsoft.Network/virtualHubs/aiven-routerserver"

Here are a couple of approaches you can try to delete the stuck resource server:

Terraform:

Try running terraform destroy in the directory where your Terraform configuration file is located.

If the above command fails, try using the --force flag: terraform destroy --force

If the resource is still not deleted, try deleting the Terraform state file (terraform.tfstate) and then running terraform init and terraform apply again.

Check for Dependencies

Sometimes, resources cannot be deleted due to dependencies. Check if there are any dependent resources:

Review the resource group for any dependent resources that might need to be deleted first.

Actually the resource failed to be created from Terraform, hence it does not exist in the Terraform state file. Regardless of how it was created I should be able to delete it directly from the portal or using AZ CLI. Which I have tried and I do not get any error or message but the resource is not being deleted.

As I mentioned I have already tried to delete the resouce using az cli

I got no response for the command above, but the resource keeps showing up on the portal and also if I query the trouteserver list:

Last week I deleted all the resources except from terraform except the resource group where the failed routeserver.

As my trial expired the resource group along with the routeserver were deleted. I assume that is part of Azure end of trial clean up.

So, the issue is solved thanks.

When a resource is in an unable to delete state, we usually recommend using GET PUT Update, which involves adding a tag to the resource or server that should absolutely need to revert the state back to succeeded before performing subsequent activities. I advise you try the following:

If not, then you need to go for the Azure support request.

Resource was deleted, I assume as part of the account cleanup as my trial expired.
