Random websites show up after I try to open a new page

Every time I try to open a new URL, I am redirected to some other place. The one I was trying to open does come up. This all started yesterday, so I'm thinking that this is some virus or bug. Help?

Could you please tell us if you are having this problem on every URL you're trying to open? What does the random websites look like? Could you go to edge://settings/reset and try resetting first?

Sounds like malware but without any additional information it is hard to say.

Is it the same site popping up or different ones?
Does it happen only when you start Edge or any time you click an external link?
Does it happen at startup or any time?
Does it happen to other accounts on the same machine?
Does it happen in Edge's safemode?
Does it happen with inprivate browsing?
Do you have extensions installed? If so what happens if you disable them?
Does it happen with another browser on the same account?
