AIP UL - error Get-AIPFileStatus : Engine is not initialized, bootstrap might have failed

Question

I have installed Azure Information Protection UL client in my local and when I try to run powershell command to get file status for label information, It is throwing an error. I do not have any subscription in Azure. Just installed client in my machine to check whether the file has sensitivity label or not.

Please let me know, how to fix this.

Thanks for your response. I am able to resolve this issue. Issue is we need to have office account logged-in which has AIP labels configured only. I used to switch between user accounts in office app in desktop (one account has AIP configured and another not) which did not worked out. I created a VM and logged-in with specific office account which has AIP configured then it started working.

I got the same error and solved it by right-clicking on a file and using the UI client to apply a label. This prompted me to pick an account, and then when I went back to PowerShell, Get-AIPFileStatus worked correctly.

Since a few days, I'm experiencing exactly the same.

Unified Labeling or classical labeling - both in place, same problem. Backend is there and configured. AIP Client Version 2.8.85 (most recent). Any other ideas?
