How to wipe Teams for a relaunch attempt?

A few years ago, we tried to use Teams as part of our WFH/COVID strategy.

It didn't go great, with numerous members having technical issues that made Teams a hassle for them.

Three years later, we have a number of new team members, and remote work has become a normal part of our office culture, with members scattered around various states.

I'd like to suggest that we attempt to relaunch Teams for use by our department. More than half of the department is new employees, and a few of the employees who were using Teams have left.

The current state of the Teams server (channel?) is a mess of messages from former employees, poorly implemented wiki pages and a jumble of irrelevant files.

I'd like to clear it all out and start fresh.

Is this possible, and if so, how do I do this?

    Hi @Troy J. Brophy

A team can have multiple channels.

You can move old channels with irrelevant messages and files to the archive. This way you can access them when needed but they won't get in the way of your work.

You can archive a created channel within a team when it’s no longer active, but you want to keep it around for reference or to reactivate in the future. The conversations and files in the channel become read-only once archived. You’ll still be able to search for and within the archived channel. Any retention or deletion policies applied to the channel will still apply, and the channel can be renewed once it's archived.

You can also create new channels based on current projects, teams, or features. This helps keep conversations organized.
