Hello everyone,

In our MECM, which we need to upgrade from version 2303 to version 2403, we do not see “System Center Updates Publisher” installed, but “Third party updates” is enabled in SUP(Software Update Ponint).

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/core/plan-design/changes/deprecated/removed-and-deprecated-cmfeatures#unsupported-and-removed-features

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/sum/tools/updates-publisher#release-history

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/sum/get-started/install-a-software-update-point#third-party-updates

Are they two different features, or do we need to disable the “Third party updates” from SUP, before upgrading MECM to version 2403 ?

Thank you for your patience and support.

    Hi, @Vid3al

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

They are two different features but they are used to manage and deploy third-party updates, the difference is "Third party updates" can not create custom catalogs.

For more details, you may refer to:

You do not need to disable the "Third party updates" from SUP before upgrading MECM to version 2403.
