Hi, We have enabled 'Append unique characters to the end of duplicate filenames' under Content Organiser settings on our site. But it won't rename the duplicate files. Is there a different way to automate renaming duplicate filenames in SharePoint Online please? I know Content Organiser doesn't work in SharePoint Online , so is there another way to achieve this please?

    Hi @Nanjappa, Ashwini,

Thank you for posting in this community.

Sorry, we don't have any other way to accomplish this at the moment.

This is because we need to do the file name duplicate determination before uploading the file to the library, and most of our automations (Power Automate) are triggered after the file has been uploaded to the library.

SharePoint Online asks us after we upload a file with the same name if we want to replace or keep both. I'm afraid we'll have to manually select both option at this point in order to automatically add a unique suffix to a file with the same name.
