Upload file not generated on Macro enabled excel document

Kindly assist with a solution to my problem.
We have been struggling with Macro enabled excel documents for months now. These documents require us to import data in form of a csv document and then we validate the data for the Macro to generate a zipped file for upload.
The importation of the CSV file works fine but validation (generation of the upload file) fails with the error "Modifications Are Not Saved, Upload File Not Generated".
This issue appears to be related to OneDrive as validation of the same document on a computer without OneDrive configured, works well without any issue and the upload file is successfully generated.
Note: The excel macro generates the upload file and saves it in the Documents folder. The documents folder syncs with OneDrive. For some reason, the Macro is not able to generate the upload document on a OneDrive sync folder.
Any suggestions?
