How to increase the custom policy XML size limit in Azure AD B2C’s Identity Experience Framework?

I’m working with Azure AD B2C’s Identity Experience Framework and have hit an issue where my custom policy XML goes beyond the platform’s default size limit. The main culprit is a single claim type that contains about 1600 KB of enumeration data. Unfortunately, due to the nature and purpose of this data, splitting it across smaller policies isn't really an option.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • I went through Microsoft’s documentation, but I couldn’t find any specific guidance on increasing the policy size limit.
  • I also looked into breaking the data into multiple policies, but since the claim needs to stay whole, that approach won’t work either.

Is there any way to raise the policy size limit for custom policies in Azure AD B2C? If that’s not possible, I’d appreciate any ideas on handling large claims data efficiently within this framework.

Any suggestions or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi @Conor Pakes

Thank you for posting this in Microsoft Q&A.

We appreciate you contacting us offline and sharing your details.

I have worked with the engineering team to increase the custom policy XML size limit in Azure AD B2C’s Identity Experience Framework. As you confirmed, you will now be able to upload custom policies larger than 1600 KB in your Azure AD B2C tenant.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.

    Thanks,

    Navya.
